Gérard Bertrand Orange Gold 2021 is an orange wine produced from organically grown Chardonnay, White Grenache, Viognier, Marsanne, Mauzac, Muscat and vatted without any destemming or crushing, semi carbonic macerated with the pressed wine blended in stainless steel tanks and completed maceration in barrels. Fresh and fruity on the nose with ripe peach, soft orange, ripe red apple, citrus zest, pepper spice and a pithy mineral finish with lightly textured chalky tannins. Gérard Bertrand is a leader in organic and biodynamic viticulture and was named ‘Green Personality of the Year’ at the Drinks Business Green Awards in 2020. He took over the family estate in 1987 and created the Gérard Bertrand wine company in 2002 developing wines in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Currently, the company oversees 16 châteaux, estates and wineries covering over 850 hectares cultivated with biodynamic methods in one or more of six levels of certification.
