New wines have landed and we are happy to have one of our personal favourites back. Máté family winery is nestled between hills in Montalcino.  Ferenc Máté and his wife Candace left New York to live the quiet life and restore an ancient farm.  From there they built a winery and, with help from their famous neighbours to start, are producing high quality and high scoring wines.  Candace’s artwork adorns each of the bottles.

On the nose you experience vibrant aromas of blueberry and blackberries, with roses, sandalwood, and espresso in the background.  The wine on the palate has rich lush tannins that are well integrated in the wine emoting flavours of mocha, dark cherries and red currants.  The finish is long and this wine would be great on its own, with charcuterie or with a rich beef stew.
